A former high school soccer player says he was sodomized by teammates as part of sexual hazing that the coach did nothing to stop, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Luis Enrique Hernandez is suing the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District over the abuse he alleges occured at La Puente High. In the suit, he claims he was abused in the locker room in an act dubbed "the pole tradition" and his screams were ignored by the coach in his adjacent office.

Coach Bahram Alavi and Assistant Principal Fernando Sanchez both are named in the suit, which is seeking unspecified damages for sexual battery, sexual harassment, false imprisonment, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Hernandez's complaint says the abuse, which he claims occured in November 2011, was “a tradition of initiating new players into the varsity soccer team that demanded sexual compliance."
